Eric Torres
Eric Torres is a Freelance Producer/Engineer/Songwriter in Nashville, TN. The Couch Room is his personal studio.
A Southern California native; Eric’s love for music took him halfway across the world to Melbourne, Australia where he graduated from SAE. He then began an internship at Dark Horse Recording Studio in Franklin, TN, and was hired as a staff assistant engineer. During his time at Dark Horse, he learned the ins and outs of Nashville recording sessions and built up a strong enough clientele to begin freelancing.
In 2010 Eric opened The Couch Room in the heart of historic Music Row. Eric’s mission was to offer everyone a comfortable, vibey place to create their best work. The Couch Room remains one of the top picks for artists, songwriters, and first call session players to write and record.
In a town where reputation is everything, Eric’s approachable personality and strong character have made him one of music city’s favorite people to work with. His engineering talent on Jamey Johnson’s “The Guitar Song” earned him a Grammy nomination, and his crystal-clear production and mixes consistently grab the attention of music industry pros. As a producer, Eric’s mantra is “I work for the artist.” For artists, this is a breath of fresh air. Additionally, Eric’s creativity and ear for great music make him someone artists can fully trust with their project. Eric is not the kind of producer who sits back in a session and hits “record.” His hands-on production style and ability to make confident decisions in the studio puts artists at ease and sets him apart.
Eric is also a staff songwriter for Dune Grass Music. He continues to write with and develop artists, keeping him current in all things music.
Eric lives in Nashville with his wife Kelly and daughter Camilla... he also loves tacos.
